Long Live the Queen: A Her-Story of Drag

Composer Andrea Clearfield and drag artist/opera singer Cookie Diorio lead a 90-minute fusion of cantata, opera, drag, cabaret, and performance art. Featuring a mix of LGBTQ+ choruses alongside a chamber orchestra of strings, winds, piano and percussion from Orchestra 2001, Long Live the Queen charts a journey across time— Before (When), Now (Conflict), and Forward (Where), refusing to apologize for a single sequin. Long Live the Queen incorporates staging, visuals, lighting along with costumes designed by Cookie Diorio. Supporting choruses include the ANNA Crusis Feminist Choir, Voices of Pride and the Transcendent Choir of Philadelphia with members of Singing City.
