In the News: ArtPhilly Unveils Plan for Inaugural Citywide Festival Ahead of Nation’s Semiquincentennial

PHILADELPHIA.Today spotlights What Now: 2026 and ArtPhilly.

During a recent press conference at the Museum of the American Revolution, Art Philly’s executive and creative director Bill Adair spoke on why the organization is organizing this festival.

“We believe artists are essential thinkers. We believe audiences are their collectors. We believe the city itself is a studio, a stage, and a site of possibility, especially in Philadelphia,” Adair said.

The “What Now” theme is a reflection of a broader national moment of transition as the nation approaches its 250th birthday.

“Our artists are fully capturing this moment,” Adair added.
